Our Team
Chris Rumney
My passion for numismatics began at the age of 10, inspired by my father, Colin Rumney, a full-time coin dealer and collector. By 16, I was actively involved in the family business, C Rumney World Coins, where we specialised in coins, medals, and other collectibles at our shop in North Wales.
At 30, I turned my lifelong interest into a full-time career, traveling extensively across Europe and the US to build valuable connections and expand my expertise. In 2008, I moved to Geneva to lead Numisor SA, where I developed a keen focus on auctions, trading, and client services within the global numismatic market.
Returning to the UK in 2016, I worked with some of the most respected names in the industry, including DNW (now Noonans), Roma Numismatics, Baldwin’s, and The Coin Cabinet, contributing significantly to their operations and business development.
In 2024, I founded Rumnicoin to bring my decades of experience into a venture focused on providing a modern, transparent, and accessible approach to coin collecting, dealing, and auctions.

Jacob Rumney
Currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Leeds in nuclear waste separation, following an MEng in Chemical Engineering, my journey into the numismatic world has been a natural progression of family heritage and personal ambition.
Over the years, I’ve attended coin fairs in London, York, Harrogate, and Birmingham, and spent time visiting my father, Chris, during his tenure in Switzerland. A week of work experience at Numisor SA, helping prepare an online auction, deepened my appreciation for the intricacies of the coin trade.
While I always envisioned working with coins in some capacity, the opportunity crystallized with the creation of Rumnicoin. My IT expertise, forward-thinking perspective, and drive for success made this the perfect moment to carry on the Rumney family legacy. Together, we draw on a combined 105 years of experience in the numismatic industry, spanning three generations.
