Our Roots in North Wales 🌿🏔️
Though Rumnicoin is a new name in the world of numismatics, our foundations run deep. With a combined 105 years of experience in coin collecting, dealing, and auctioning, our journey started in North Wales—a beautiful and historic region that continues to inspire us.
Our story begins in 1970 when Colin Rumney founded C. Rumney World Coins after decades of collecting. In the years that followed, the business grew into a well-respected name in the industry. In the late 1980s, Chris Rumney joined the family business at just 16 years old, helping to establish Rhyl Coin & Stamp Centre—a shop that specialized in coins, medals, stamps, jewellery, and antiques.
From here, we expanded our reach, attending coin shows across the USA, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, France, and beyond. The expertise and global network we built during these years now form the foundation of Rumnicoin’s mission: bringing high-quality numismatics to collectors worldwide.
Our Logo – A Tribute to Welsh History 🏛️🦁
At the heart of our identity is our logo, which represents both our heritage and passion for history. The Celtic knot ring reflects Wales’ deep-rooted traditions, while the heraldic lion inside is inspired by the flag of Owain Glyndŵr—the legendary Welsh leader who fought for independence. His spirit of resilience and strength resonates with us as we embark on this new chapter in numismatics.
