Welcome to Rumnicoin

Rumnicoin may be a new name but our foundations run deep and have a combined 105 years experience in coin collecting, coin dealing, and auctioning within the global numismatic community.

The journey began when Colin Rumney founded C Rumney World Coins in 1970 having been an avid collector prior to that for 20 years. Chris Rumney was drafted in to the family business at the age of 16 and they opened a Coin Shop in the coastal town of Rhyl, North Wales. Rhyl Coin & Stamp Centre specialised in every aspect of collectibles from Coins, Medals, Stamps, Jewellery, Watches and other items of the Antique genre. At this time they also attended coin shows in the USA, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, France and many other locations.

In 2008 our founder, Chris Rumney, made a move to Geneva to head up a new company under the guidance of his then mentor, Mr. F Lehmann- Asmussen, Numisor SA, and this lead to the foundations of our auction operation today. Having conducted many successful auctions, trades and bullion deals in Switzerland and making new global partnerships, our founder returned to the UK with a new zest for the auction side of the trade.

He has since worked with DNW in Mayfair (now Noonans), Roma Numismatics Ltd of Charing Cross, Baldwins and TCC Auctions Ltd of London.

During this period, Chris Rumney was responsible for bringing in over £10m in revenue from new business opportunities.

With all the knowledge gained along his numismatic journey he has decided to take the next step and embark on his own adventure into the wonderful world of coin collecting, dealing and auctioneering, but none of this would have been possible without bringing on board his son, Jacob Rumney who is heading up the company’s IT, Marketing and Social Media campaign along with my daughter Emilia who will be responsible for Social Media, Photography and other back office administration in the future.

Rumnicoin will be hosting its very own online auctions beginning this spring with a specialist auction of coins and will feature the Rumney Collection of World Animal Themed Medallions and The North Wales memorabilia collection. Please keep an eye out for our catalogue, which will be available soon.

Shortly after the inaugural auction, we aim to host our second auction of General World Coins.
